Eastenders indoor season begins in true style

Great, fantastic, superb, excellent, brilliant, out of this world are just some of the words East Newport riders were using after their first indoor training session of the winter season at Underwood Leisure Centre on Sunday 16th November.
The racing started off a little tentatively at first but once the riders gained their confidence and their tyres had warmed up the pace became just as hot with passing and spills in plentiful supply to keep the watching crowd happy.
The first turnout saw 20 riders trying out the winter training sessions which is pretty good going given most clubs tend to become dormant at this time of the year so the future looks rosy for the friendly Welsh club. The only true casualty of the evening was Gilbert “Bearo” Davis who had to watch the events from the balcony due to going down with bouts of sickness.
We all wish him well and next week the club will welcome him back to the track fully fit. Attendance will be expected to grow so get along early and book your place for the winter training sessions.
